Responsible for seamless day-to-day project operations,
Janai is the Chief Operating Officer and a Partner of Ebony Development.
With Ebony recognized by Pittsburgh Business Times as #3 of Pittsburgh’s
Fastest 100 Growing Companies and #1 in Real Estate/Construction/Development
industry in Southwestern Pennsylvania two years running, Janai has devoted
tremendous energy to provide quality service to clients and maintaining
a standard of excellence. As an heir to the family business, Janai upholds
the passion to demand improved quality of life for urban residents and
brings a social consciousness to society that provides for the proper
humanitarian viewpoint that all businesses need in today’s diverse
global economy. Recent awards and accomplishments include: International
Council of Shopping Centers, John T. Riordan Professional Education
Scholarship, 2006, Nomination to the Pennsylvania Planning Association
(PPA) for First-Year Planning Workshop, 2003, Nomination to the PPA
for Best First-Year Planning Student Research Essay, 2003, The Nassau
Research Fund Award, 2002-2003, Hassenfeld Grant for Undergraduate Research
in Urban Studies, 2002-2003, and The William L Levy Study Abroad Travel
Scholarship, 2002
Williams has academic and professional experience in Real Estate Finance,
Urban Economics, Public Policy, and Urban Planning. In 2002, Williams
studied with the Department of Development in Warsaw, Poland, in the
Technopolis division of the Borough of Warzawa- Bemowo, as a Development
Research Assistant. Williams is an active member of the business and
social community serving or has served as a Board of Director for several
organizations including: National Forum Member for the National Association
of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Family Business Forum, the
Urban Land Institute Young Leaders, the Youthworks, Inc, and Clergy
and Churches United, Inc. Williams is a member of: American Planning
Association (APA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), International Council
of Shopping Centers (ICSC), African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC)
and Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation (PHLF).
Educated at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Design and the
College of Arts and Sciences, the Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw,
Poland, and the University of Pittsburgh, Katz School of Business, Institute
for Entrepreneurial Excellence, Entrepreneurial Fellows Program, Williams
has made a tremendous impact in the Southwestern urban fabric and beyond.
Williams engages new business, perfectly amalgamates prospects and projects,
and maintains excellent relationships with both clients and the community.
